This IUI did not work. I am desperately sad. We don't know what we are doing next.
We have enough follistim to do another cycle, but the doctors visits won't be covered. So between the cost and health risks, we aren't sure we want to do another cycle. We have an appointment with our RE on Wednesday, which is required after 3 IUIs. I can't imagine he is going to tell us anything new and will probably suggest IVF, which we have almost decided we don't want to do, due to the expense. I just don't want to go in debt.
Since I do ovulate, there is always an outside chance this could happen naturally, but I don't exactly have a lot of faith in that. Stranger things have happened, but that won't happen soon.
We are considering fostering, my husband feels far more comfortable with that versus adoption. I have a feeling fostering could lead to adoption one day. We are going to explore this option at an information session next week and I am reading everything on the internet about fostering. I believe we would foster children ages 3 months-2 years. Of course we have no baby supplies, but I have lots of mom connections through my church and work, so I think it would be pretty easy to get lots of handmedowns.
Also, not having children through any means had come up a few times. I never thought I could even think about not having children. My entire life has been about children whether through work or volunteering, so this is shocking. I have honestly thought about finding a new job b/c working with children has become painful. I love my job and working with kids/teens makes up only half of it, so I have a lot of thinking to do before I make such a huge decision.
We always planned to move back to my hometown once we had kids. My family would help with childcare and we could actually afford a nice home there. Now we are talking about moving lots of cool places, since we won't need the big house.
I feel like everything in my life has been turned upside down and we have to figure out a whole new plan. I don't want a new plan. But we have to figure it out, this is the hand we have been dealt.

I think marriage should be a church event and civil unions should be a government institution. If you go to church and it supports your love (gay/straight), they should marry you. I believe everyone should be able to get a civil union (gay and straight) and that should be from the government. When I do weddings, it should not be a legal event.
